Practical Magic Prep: Full Moon in Scorpio

In the Darkness Before the Dawn

The Full Moon in Scorpio has strong amplifications for powerful shadow work because the Moon is in its sign of fall when in Scorpio. Remember being in your sign of fall isn’t a bad thing, it means it’s asking us to dive into something that isn’t comfortable for us – and that is where the growth and changes happen. Scorpio asks us to deep dive our emotional patterns and old relationships to take accountability and answer lingering questions about what really happened (or is happening) in our most intimate relationships

In the Swirling of the Storm

The most intimate relationship many of us avoid, that is the most critical to our happiness, is the one with ourselves. With Lilith also in Scorpio this is a powerful time to consider the divine shadow and hidden cultural aspects of the powerful feminine. Most of our modern cultures repress the anger, rage, sexuality and depth of truly feminine energy. I love that ancient cultures were more open to the duality of women. I myself can be a warrior and a lover. A gentle Taurus bull sniffing flowers in a field and a raging terror if threatened. We are taught too often, for too long, that anger isn’t a valid female emotion or that sexuality makes us depraved. Question these myths and assumptions this Full Moon.

When I’m Rolling with the Punches and Hope is Gone

Don’t unpack and live in any emotion, but don’t avoid it either. I believe we came to this life to experience the spectrum, the duality, the full range of life’s emotions and all are welcome (but as a friend recently told me, all emotions are welcome, all behaviors are not).

Leave a Light On

You may consider doing some research or invoking the energies of sacred divine feminine entities like those of Freja, the Nordic earth goddess of passion and fertility; Maeve, Irish mythology Queen of power, sovereignty, the land and sexuality; or Ishtar, goddess of love, sex, war and justice (Inanna is her origin).
