Mercury goes Retrograde
It’s me, hi. I’m the problem, it’s me.
Well, here’s your favorite anti-hero that everyone loves to hate and hates to love taking himself for another little stroll in reverse. Mercury is in his stationary era (that would be the few days pre- and post- retrograde) but every time I dare post he’s retrograde on his actual retrograde vs. his stationary start time, I get hate mail, so I can compromise. He technically goes retrograde on the 19th but who’s counting anyway (apparently many of you based on the DMs I get). So let’s talk about what to expect.
First, check my post from earlier this week on Mercury in your chart by house. I would expect to see the retrograde impacts take place in those areas of your life (represented by house) where your Mercury sits. That will help personalize this broad advice a little better for you. Also if you have big Mercury placements, like conjunctions (mine is conjunct Venus and I do love talk as a relationship builder), Mercury in his ruling sign Gemini (guilty!) or Mercury in the 3rd (his ruling house) then you might expect an amplification of this retrograde.
Second, while there are broad astrology rules like don’t sign contracts and beware of communications problems, I find personally that it’s more nuanced than that which is why I look to my house of Mercury and other transit aspects. For example, my Mercury is in the 6th so contracts, slide-backs and communication challenges for me might be more applicable to areas of health, service and routine in my daily work.
Third, remember retrogrades are not doom and gloom. Their opportunities to reevaluate, to respond differently and to consider redoing things. Their retrospective. They can be powerful changes to refresh our perspective and viewpoints.
