Recognizing Signs/Omens: Badger

When certain plants, animals, natural elements show up in your life - the universe and/or your ancestors are trying to get your attention.

When badger and its symbolism show in your life in a powerful way, pay attention! The universe is trying to get a message through to you about the power of badger. First this is a symbol of encouragement to keep going if you are attempting something new or experiencing a challenging situation. Badger is known for its determination, digging its burrow and creating its home out of any and all circumstances. These adorable but ferocious creatures can doggedly see any project through to completion. Spirit might be trying to tell you to keep going, or also, to not give up so easily. Keep trying, keep going, your hard work will pay off.

Badgers also are sacred symbols of the earth. They dig their den homes out of mother earth herself, utilizing the protection of tree roots and hollows, hillsides and other natural protrusions to protect and shelter their families. You may be getting too in your head and need some grounding to get your connection to mother earth reestablished. Many think they can only create in that ethereal, airy, dream state but just like the trees you need to root deep to rise strong. Badger symbolism may be coming to remind you that it’s time to get your physical body rooted and anchored so you can create.

Seeing Badger or Badger symbolism could also be a call to courage. These tenacious animals don’t take no for an answer or back down lightly when confronted. They’re known to take on predators or threats that far outsize and outweigh them. Know that if you’re being confronted right now with challenging or seemingly unfair circumstances, just like Badger you can demonstrate great courage (and success!) by not backing down. Keep going. Keep fighting with courage for what you know is right and just.
