Practical Magic Prep: New Moon in Virgo

Set Adrift on Memory Bliss of You

How’d you like that total lunar eclipse and full blood moon a few weeks back? Didn’t get quite enough release? Want to shed a little more? Great! Here’s your change with September New Moon energy in Virgo and a solar eclipse. Virgo energy is asking you to bring some structure and routine to your emotional clean-up. One of my favorite things about Virgo energy is its ability to see potential in anyone or anything. You can tap into that optimistic, hardworking energy by adding some structure to your goal setting and new projects. What do you want your year to look like when it ends in four months? How would you like 2026 to look different for you? Those are really great journal prompts to guide your goals this lunation.

Reality Used to be a Friend of Mine, ‘Cause Complete Control I don’t take too Kind

While new moons are typically a great time for starting new projects or intentions, there’s a bit of introspection and inner work that’s needing to be done first thanks to the eclipse. The invitation here is to face the truth or your reality and then make a plan that comes from spaciousness and choice about where you want to go, versus reaction, memory and fear. Virgo likes things to be perfect but that can cause us to miss out on the joy of this imperfect moment. Don’t waste any more time waiting for the perfect circumstance, the perfect partner, the perfect job, the perfect house or the perfect manner in which to start. Start. Brainstorm some ideas, some goals and then start. In all your imperfection, you can start here and now and begin. Perfection is a lie we hide behind to control circumstances or people. It’s an illusion. Allow yourself to plant seeds now for your future self will be thankful for later.
