Mars Enters Leo

The call sign for Mars in Leo is the word, Valor. The word valor isn’t lauded as highly as it should be if practiced as part of character. Valor comes from the Latin valorem for “strength, moral worth,” with the sense of “courage” added later in history. With Mars in Leo we are all being called upon to act with strength, to dig deeper to embody our character in deed and daily action – not just words and social media debates. You are who you are when no one is watching. If you embody one quality the next two months I would challenge you, as I’m challenging myself, to make that character development quality be valor for the issues, people and values you believe in for this world and our collective future together in it.

Valor made me think of one of my favorite characters and storylines from Game of Thrones. “Valar morghulis” is a High Valyrian phrase from Game of Thrones that means "all men must die."It is often used in response to the phrase “valar dohaeris”, which means "all men must serve.” Each of us will die one day, it’s our only guarantee. But how will we serve each other and serve this life is the real question.
